2014 World Cup Qualifying Round - CONMEBOL

Bolivia crushed Uruguay 4-1 on Tuesday with a hat-trick from striker Carlos Saucedo. The Bolivians, always strong at home in high altitude, took the lead through Saucedo  before Gualberto Mojica doubled the lead before half time.

Carlos Saucedo scored in the fifth, 51st and 55th minutes and Gualberto Mujica added the other in the 26th. Luis Suarez scored in the 81st for Uruguay.

Uruguay have taken one point only from their last four qualifiers, while Bolivia have moved away from the bottom of the table.

The defeat - which follows a 4-0 thrashing by Colombia and a 3-0 defeat by Argentina last Friday - saw them drop to fifth spot in the table.

Venezuela moved above them into the fourth and final automatic qualifying spot for the finals with a 1-1 home draw with Ecuador.

Messi scored in the 28th and Higuain added another in the 31st. Felipe Gutierrez scored for Chile in second-half stoppage time.
Argentina has 20 points from nine games. Chile stayed on 12 points, and the loss will put more pressure on under-fire coach Claudio Borghi.
Messi took a perfect through-ball from Fernando Gago and then slotted the ball home from 12 metres (yards).
Higuain doubled the lead when he broke down the right flank, cut inside and hit a left-foot shot into the net. Sergio Aguero hit the post in the 44th and Angel Di Maria came close in first-half stoppage time.
Argentina had more chances in the second half, and the late goal for Chile made the result look closer than it really was.

Defender Pablo Aguilar scored early in the second half Tuesday to give Paraguay a 1-0 victory over Peru in a South American World Cup qualifier.
Aguilar scored from a centring pass from Julio Dos Santos in the 52nd minute.
Paraguay improved to seven points from nine matches, and Peru has eight. Both teams are longshots to reach the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
